Generation of hematopoietic progenitor cells, megakaryocytes and platelets, using feeder cells

This protocol describes a method to generate megakaryocytes and platelets via the formation of ES-sacs. These ES-sacs consisted of multiple cysts and spherical cells expressing hematopoietic markers. The number of ES-sacs generated from KhES-3 was several-fold higher than those from KhES-1 or KhES-2.
