Generation of choroid plexus epithelial cells from embryonic stem cells, by exposure to BMP

In this protocol, neuronal progenitor cells are derived from embryonic stem cells using a method termed “SFEBq” (serum-free floating culture of embryoid body-like aggregates with quick reaggregation). The floating neural progenitor cells are then differentiated into choroid plexus epithelial cells by exposure to BMP4. The protocol describes generation of choroid plexus epithelial cells from mouse embryonic stem cells, but human embryonic stem cells can also be used with modifications of the protocol.
