Mouse embryonic stem cell differentiation into mesoderm, definitive endoderm and hepatocytes

Through this protocol, endoderm can be induced in embryoid bodies (EBs), either by limited exposure to serum or by culture in the presence of activin A under serum-free conditions. Differentiation can be monitored by using an embryonic stem cell (ESC) line with the green fluorescent protein (GFP)-labeled cDNA targeted to the brachyury locus.
