Generation of melanocytes from human embryonic stem cells using defined medium

A 2-step protocol for the generation of melanocytes from human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) using Wnt3a, endothelin-3, and stem cell factor. The melanocytes express melanocyte markers, produce melanin and home to the basement membrane when incorporated into human reconstructed skin.
