Schwann cell differentiation from skin-derived precursor cells

In this differentiation protocol, skin-derived precursor cells that have characteristics of neural crest cells, are differentiated into Schwann-like cells using heregulin-β1 and forskolin. The derived cells express Schwann cell-specific markers and are shown to myelinate crushed sciatic nerves of shiverer mice.
