Medullary Stroma Cells (InS)

Medullary stroma cells eventually differentiate into mature interstitial cells, pericytes and neurons. A subpopulation of stroma cells that do not differentiate into other cell types may undergo apoptosis during late gestation to free up space for the loops of Henle as they extend toward the tip of the papilla.
