Caudal Ganglionic Eminence

NT.CGE
The caudal ganglionic eminence is a progenitor domain within the ventral telencephalon that gives rise to the subpallial parts of the amygdala. In addition, this region is a source of cortical interneurons in the striatum, neocortex and limbic system. The CGE is defined as a posterior region in which the medial and lateral eminences are fused to one structure. This structure is also a source of oligodendrocytes.
