Early MN Progenitor Cells (pMN)

NT.pMN.EpMNPCs
The early MN (Motor Neuron) progenitor cells in the spinal cord produce motor neurons. Later, the gene expression patterns in these cells undergo dramatic changes, thereby leading to formation of oligodendrocytes.

SHH signaling through activation of Olig2 is both necessary and sufficient for generation of spinal motor neurons and oligodendrocytes.
