Ventral Telencephalic Progenitor Cells develop into medial, lateral and caudal ganglionic eminence (MGE, LGE and CGE) and preoptic/anterior entopeduncular area (POA/AEP) progenitor cells that give rise to the basal ganglia (striatum and globus pallidus) and parts of the amygdala, but also to neurons that migrate into the cortex and olfactory bulbs.
