Trunk Mesoderm

PrM.TM

The trunk somite mesoderm, a part of paraxial mesoderm, is formed by epiblast-derived cells during the first phase of somite formation, and later, by tail bud-derived cells. The cells are progressively added to the posterior end of the existing paraxial mesoderm to form the presomitic mesoderm (PSM).
