Cervical Muscle Satellite Pool

SkM.CMscSP
The skeletal muscle satellite pool contains a heterogenous population of satellite cells which are characterized by their ability to self-renew in their undifferentiated state, and to produce differentiated cells upon appropriate signaling. The muscle satellite pool, which is  present in the muscle myofibers,  is responsible for postnatal muscle growth and for muscle regeneration following injury.
