Stromal vascular fraction cells for osteoporotic bone fractures

The aim of this study is to asses the ability of stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cells, isolated from lipoaspirates, to serve as an osteogenic component in composite grafts applied to treat proximal humeral fractures, as a model for fractures in osteoporotic bones. SVF cells are isolated (Cellution®800/CRS) and wrapped around a hydroxyapatite microgranule-embedded fibrin-gel, and then applied to augment typical bone-voids in fractures.
