Cord blood-derived hematopoietic stem cells for treatment of oxygen deprivation in newborns

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the plasticity of autologous cord blood stem cells can improve the clinical course of asphyxiated newborns. Freshly collected autologous hematopoietic CD34+ cord blood stem cells were intravenously delivered to newborns with oxygen deprivation.
