Induced pluripotent stem cell-derived dopaminergic neurons for Parkinson's disease

Induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells are differentiated into functional dopaminergic-like cells in-vitro. These cells are then transplanted into the brains of 6-OHDA Parkinson's disease rat animal models. The transplanted cells survive and ameliorate the behavioral deficits of the animals.
