NurOwn™, mesenchymal stem cells secreting NTF for neurodegenerative diseases
NurOwn™ is an autologous, adult stem cell therapy technology that differentiates bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) into specialized, neuron-supporting cells, known as “MSC-NTF” cells, that secrete neurotrophic, or nerve-growth factors. The cells are used to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and multiple sclerosis (MS).
Clinical trials have found the treatment safe and have shown initial indications of clinical benefit for ALS patients.
