Keraheal™, cultured keratinocytes for burns

Keraheal™ is comprised of autologous cultured human epidermal kertinocytes, isolated from patient skin biopsies and propagated. Keraheal™ is a liquid suspension containing mainly non-differentiated preconfluent cells. During production of Keraheal™ only a small number of cells is required for culturing and shorter culturing times are necessary, compared to other treatments, minimizing the enzymatic degradation of cell surface proteins or cellular basal membranes from the cells. Keraheal™ enhances the grafting rate of a wide meshed autograft in massive burns and allows grafting of wide meshed autograft together with acellular dermal matrix in some cases.
