MultiStem®, bone marrow-derived cells for inflammatory bowel diseases

MultiStem® are adult bone marrow-derived cells used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (UC). Treatment demonstrate favorable safety and tolerability through 8 weeks following treatment. However, the cell therapy failed to show meaningful benefit, following a single administration, in patients suffering from chronic, moderate-to-severe UC who have failed other therapies.
