Bone marrow-derived adult mononuclear cells for heart diseases

The aim of these studies is to asses the safety and effectiveness of transplantation of adult stem cells into injured heart muscle, to improve heart function in patients who suffer from heart disease. Adult stem cells may offer a potential means of reversing or preventing permanent damage caused to the heart. In heart attack patients, there was no effect on the left ventricular ejection fraction.
