Mesenchymal stromal cells for glomerulonephritis

The aim of this study was to assess whether rat mesenchymal stem cells can accelerate recovery from renal damage in rat mesangioproliferative anti-Thy1.1 glomerulonephritis. Improved renal function, decreased proteinuria, reduced glomerulosclerosis and prevention of acute renal failure were recorded in mesenchymal stem cell-treated rats .
