Mesenchymal stem cells for lung fibrosis

The aim of this study was to examine the nature of the signals involved in the recruitment of administered stem cells to the lung, the extent of stem cell engraftment, and the effect of injury or disease on recruitment and engraftment, in a bleomycin (BLM) mouse model of lung fibrosis. Enhanced mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) engraftment and lung tissue protection were observed.
