StemGenex™, adipose-derived stem cells for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
StemGenex™ is comprised of adipose-derived stem cells that are acquired by a mini-liposuction, and processed with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which includes growth factors that have a powerful impact on cell development, growth and proliferation. A specialized low-laser light is used to activate both the platelets of the PRP and the stem cells. The activated mixture is then administered via an intrabrachial infusion over a 1-2 hour period, to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
The study demonstrates an acceptable and tolerable safety profile for the treatment during short- and long-term follow-up.
