Bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells (Texas A&M Health Science Center)

Mononuclear cells derived from bone marrow aspirated from the iliac crest.

Bone marrow (80-100 mL) is aspirated from the iliac crest using preservative-free heparin as anticoagulant (final heparin concentration: 10–25 units/ml marrow). The cells are isolated using the Sepax® system. Cells are then harvested and washed 3 times in human serum albumin/saline buffer before re-suspension in human serum albumin (5%) diluted in saline.
