Peripheral blood-derived hematopoietic stem cells (Alberta Health Services)

Peripheral blood-derived hematopoietic stem cells are CD34+ cells collected from the circulating blood.

Cells were collected from the bloodstream, by apheresis, performed following treatment with 300 μg (<60 kg), 480 μg (60 to 90 kg) or 600 μg (>90 kg) granulocyte colony-stimulation factor (G-CSF) for 5 days or until apheresis is completed. At least 3x106 CD34+ cells/kg were collected.
