The bone marrow (BM) contains resident progenitor/stem cells (BM-SCs) that can induce the regeneration of damage tissues, including the myocardium.
An average of 150 ml of bone marrow was aspirated. Bone marrow mononuclear cells were isolated by density-gradient centrifugation, washed twice and resuspended in 5% human albumin, supplemented with 20 IU/ml heparin.
