eNOS-transfected endothelial progenitor cells (Northern Therapeutics, Inc.)

Peripheral blood mononuclear cells are isolated and differentiated into an endothelial lineage (EPC), and then transfected with the therapeutic gene, endothelial nitric oxide synthase (heNOS).

Transfection of the endothelial progenitor cells is performed by electroporation, with a plasmid carrying full-length heNOS-encoding cDNA, using Maxcyte Inc. technology.
