Peripheral blood-derived endothelial progenitor cells (Ottawa Hospital Research Institute)

Circulating mononuclear cells (MNCs) are obtained by apheresis and subjected to differential culture inducing endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs).

Collected MNCs will be enriched by density gradient centrifugation, followed by differential culture on fibronectin-coated plates in the presence of human recombinant growth factors (vascular endothelial growth factor-A, insulin-like growth factor, epidermal growth factor and fibroblast growth factor-2).
