The clonal human embryonic progenitor line MEL2 was derived from the registered parental hES cell line H9.The embryonic progenitor line MEL2 expresses chondrogenic (NKX3-2, SOX9, COL1A1) and osteogenic (SATB2, ALPL, MSX2) markers. In addition, it expresses markers of neural crest, lateral plate-derived head and limb mesenchymal cells (FRZB, HAND2, DLX5, DLX6, TWIST1, FOXD1, MSX2, TFAP2A, SOX9).
