Generation of renal proximal tubular-like cells from human embryonic stem cells

This protocol describes a method to generate renal proximal tubular cells using defined growth factors. The differentiated cells morphologically and functionally resemble renal proximal tubular cells, and form tubular structures both in vitro and in subcutaneous transplants, in vivo.
