Generation of adipocytes from mouse embryonic stem cells

This protocol describes a method to generate adipocyte-like cells, following an embryoid bodies formation step. The protocol yield lies between 50-70%. The differentiated cells contain lipid droplets and  express LPL, and FABP4 adipocyte-specific markers. The gene expression data for the embryoid bodies cells, was derived from a protocol that uses CD2341 (a retinoic acid receptor agonist), instead of retinoic acid.
