Direct differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into chondrocytes

Human embryonic stem cells are differentiated into chondrocyte-like cells using a chemically-defined differentiation protocol. Notably, both HuESC-7 and HuESC-8 yield a higher proportion of SOX9-positive cells at the end of the protocol than do HuESC-1 cells.
