Ischemic stroke patients vs. Healthy controls

Gene expression was compared in a univariate manner between stroke patients and control subjects using t test in GeneSpring. Inflation of type 1 error was corrected by Bonferroni and Ingenuity Systems Pathway analysis was performed.

Gene expression analysis of peripheral whole blood of acute ischemic stroke patients (n=39) in comparison to that of healthy individuals (n=24).

Peripheral blood samples were collected, in Paxgene Blood RNA tubes, from both stroke patients who were >18 years of age, with MRI-diagnosed ischemic stroke and from controls who had no history of stroke and were neurologically healthy.
