Obesity patients subcutaneous white adipocytes vs. lean controls subcutaneous white adipocytes

Microarray gene expression profiling of adipocytes collected from both non-diabetic obese patients and from non-diabetic lean subjects. Subcutaneous white adipocytes were isolated by collagenase digestion of subcutaneous abdominal fat biopsy samples, obtained from 9 obese (4 male and 5 female, 29±5y, 55±8 kg/m² ) and 10 lean (5 males and 5 females, aged 31±6 year, Body Mass Index 25±3 kg/m² ) subjects.
