Natural killer (NK) cells are a subset of cytotoxic lymphocytes that are a component of the innate immune system. NK cells differentiate and mature in the bone marrow, spleen, thymus and tonsils and then enter the circulation. Their cytoplasm consists of small granules that contain granzymes.
