Intramembranous Osteoblasts (RSMBs)

Bn.RSMBs.IntOCs

Osteoblasts are responsible for deposition of the mineral components of the bone matrix. Osteoblasts attach to the surface of the bone matrix, proliferate, and secrete type I collagen and bone-specific non-collagenous proteins such as osteocalcin. These proteins are crucial for mineralization of the bone matrix. At this stage, the osteoid matrix is mineralized.
