Chondrocytes (McC)

Chondrocytes are the only cell type residing in cartilage that produce and maintain the extracellular matrix of cartilage. In Meckel's cartilage some chondrocytes become hyperthrophic chondrocytes, however they do not express differentiation markers such as IHH and ColX.
