Muller glia precursor cells are the latest born cells in the retina. Notch signaling is maintained in the retinal progenitor cells (RPCs) until late developmental stages, promoting acquisition of the Muller glia fate. This signaling is maintained in the glia precursor cells and is involved in their maturation.
