Stem cell-derived oligodendrocyte precursor cells for multiple sclerosis

This study aims to test the potential of stem cell-derived oligodendrocyte progenitor cells in treating multiple sclerosis. Stem cell-derived oligodendrocyte progenitor cells were transplanted into the ventricle of newborn shiverer mice. At 3 months post-transplantation, the transplanted cells were present in the corpus callosum, expressed OLIG2 and MBP, two oligodendrocyte-specific markers, and generated myelin sheaths.
