itMSC, bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells for cardiovascular diseases

itMSC (ischemic tolerant mesenchymal stem cells) are bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells indicated for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction (AMI), chronic heart failure (CHF) and peripheral artery disease (PAD). These cells are unique in their low immunogenicity, notable ability to migrate towards site of injury, and by the high levels of growth and transcription factors they secrete. itMSC-treated AMI patients demonstrated elevated left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and reduced inflammation compared to control groups.
