MultiGeneAngio, genetically modified endothelial and smooth muscle cells for vascular disease
MultiGeneAngio is endothelial and smooth muscle cells isolated from a short vein segment stripped from the patient's arm under local anesthesia. After isolation, endothelial and smooth muscle cells are expanded, characterized, and finally gene modified by the transfer of angiogenic genes into these cells (ANG1 to endothelial cells and VEGF165 to smooth muscle cells) to treat patients with peripheral arterial disease.
