ADRCs, adipose-derived regenerative cells for cardiovascular disease

ADRCs are autologous adipose-derived stem and regenerative cells isolated and concentrated using the Cytori Therapeutics' Celution® System to reduce the variability and increase the quality of the recovered cells. The cells are used for treating ischemic heart disease and myocardial infarction. Acute myocardial infarction treatment with intracoronary injections of ADRCs proved to be safe and feasible. In addition, treatment led to improved perfusion and reduced scar formation. ADRC-treated chronic ischemic heart disease patients have a lower cardiac mortality rate and demonstrated improved MVO2 (maximum oxygen consumption) .
