BMAC®, autologous bone marrow aspirate concentrate for congestive heart failure
Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) is collected and processed using the SmartPReP2 BMAC System. The bone marrow is centrifuged to remove red blood cells. The buffy coat is concentrated by removing plasma. The resultant cell concentrate is used to treat patients with congestive heart failure. Some try to combine laser therapy with BMAC to treat patients with coronary artery disease. Intramyocardial delivery of bone marrow stem-cells together with laser therapy is a safe procedure, improving life quality and demonstrated myocardial thickening.
