NU211-01/NC215-01, human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells for autism
Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) and human cord blood mononuclear cells (hCB-MNCs) have been shown to modulate immune responses and enhance angiogenesis, suggesting a novel and promising therapeutic agent. This study compares transplantation of hCB-MNCs to combined transplantation of hUC-MSCs and hCB-MNCs in patients with autism.
Treatment was found to be safe and efficacious. Both treatment groups displayed improvements in function compared to untreated patients. The combined treatment resulted in a greater therapeutic effects when compared to hCB-MNC treatment.
