Human multipotent adipose-derived (hMAD) stem cells (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique)

These multipotent cells are isolated from the white adipose tissue (WAT) of young donors (1 month - 7 years old). The rapidly adhering sub-population of cells exhibit strong telomerase activity, and can be expanded for more than 200 population doublings (PDs). Cells express various pluripotent markers, but are negative to STRO-1 and HLA-DR.  Several hMADS lines were developed and characterized.

Cells are cultured in low-glucose DMEM, supplemented with FBS (10%).
