Porcine bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (Osiris Therapeutics, Inc.)

Bone marrow was aspirated from the iliac crest of a healthy male Landrace pig. Mononuclear cell fractionation, obtained by Ficoll density gradient centrifugation, was used to remove undesired cell types. Cells were expanded in culture based on adherence to plastic.
