Mononuclear cells are isolated from the bone marrow of rats.
Bone marrow cells were isolated from femoral and tibial bones of rats and mononuclear elements were separated by Ficoll-Hypaque (d 1.077) density gradient centrifugation. Cells were cultured in DMEM supplemented with fetal bovine serum (20%) and penicillin/streptomycin/amphotericin, at a density of 1.5 x106 mononuclear cells/cm2, at 37°C with 5% CO2.
