A116 (University of Helsinki)

A116 induced pluripotent stem cells were derived from human adult male foreskin fibroblasts by retroviral infection. Reprogramming was conducted by expression of OCT4, SOX2, KLF4, and c-MYC. Cells express pluripotentency markers and carry a normal karyotype:46,XX.

Cells are cultured on mitotically inactivated human foreskin fibroblast (hFF) feeder cells in Knock-Out Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (KO-DMEM) supplemented with Knock-OutSerum Replacement (20%),  GlutaMax-I (2 mM),  β-mercaptoethanol (0.1 mM), non-essential amino acids (NEAA, 1% ), penicillin/streptomycin (50 U/ml) and human bFGF (8ng/ml).
