Alveolar line 6 (Hannover Medical School)

A line of induced pluripotent stem cells generated from tail fibroblasts of a double-transgenic Clara cell secretory protein (CCSP)-rtTA2s-M2/GFP-tetO7-lacZ mouse by lentiviral transfection.

Cells are routinely cultivated and expanded on irradiated murine embryonic fibroblasts in Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium supplemented with fetal calf serum (15%), L-glutamine (0.2 mM), 2–mercaptoethanol (0.1 mM), nonessential amino acids (0.1 mM) and human leukemia inhibitory factor (huLIF ; 0.1%) conditioned medium (produced by transient transfection of a huLIF expression plasmid into human embryonic kidney 293 cells).
