SHEF-1 (UK Stem Cell Bank)

The cell line was derived from a fresh eight-cell embryo donated on day 3 of culture, by patients undergoing fertility treatments (inner cell mass of blastocyst was isolated by immunosurgery). Cells have a normal karyotype, 46 XY.

Isolation & Growth Conditions

Cells are maintained on inactivated MEF feeder cells
