MSC-containing human skin substitute (Grafix) (Osiris Therapeutics, Inc.)

GrafixTM is a human skin substitute produced from human placental membranes, comprised of extracellular matrix (ECM), growth factors and proteins, which support cell migration, proliferation and maturation. The skin substitute also contains mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), fibroblasts and epithelial cells. MSCs are located adjacent to an outer layer of neonatal epithelial cells and are co-localized in the stromal cell compartment with fibroblasts.
