Dental pulp stem cells (Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine)

Cells are isolated from the dental pulp tissue of permanent teeth. They express mesenchymal markers and show osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation capacities.

Isolated pulp tissues were minced and digested in a collagenase mixture for 1 hour, and centrifuged to obtain tissue pellets. Cells were cultured in knockout Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (KO-DMEM), supplemented with fetal bovine serum (10%), L-glutamine (5 mM) and penicillin-streptomycin (50 units/ml).
